Code management service GitHub is down for several hours. I have been constantly trying to update my code on the server but I am unable to do so as their service is down. Several users posted funny twitter messages about the same. Some hilariously tweeted that GitHub us down because of Eclipse.
Following is the message git hub posted on their status page.
We continue to investigate connectivity problems affecting GitHub.com.
We are investigating reports of connectivity issues to GitHub.com and related services.
We are investigating reports of elevated error rates.
In the last few months, github had similar problems several times impacting several software developers.
At the time of posting this message, github is still down.
Github has the largest codebase repository compared to its competitor’s bitbucket and gitlab .
A hackernews page posted a message stating that that stage down is also happening with another provider like Bitbucket as well. Might be something to do with DDOS or Ransomware attack?
