VC firm Pi Ventures Hires Myntra Ex-CTO Shamik Sharma

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IoT-focused early-stage venture fund Pi Ventures has now hired Shamik Sharma as a venture to draw its product roadmap and hire talent.

In his new role, Sharma will work with portfolio founders to design product roadmaps and hire specialized talent. His role will involve supporting pi Ventures in a deep understanding of technology and IP via technology deep dives of prospective portfolio companies and support in bringing interesting start-ups aligned with Pi Ventures’ investment theme to their deal pipeline.

“Sharma will help the founders understand technology and IP (Intellectual Property) of product firms and bring startups aligned with our investment theme to their deal pipeline,” the company said in a statement here.

Shamik Sharma is a computer science graduate from IIT-Kharagpur in West Benga and has a master’s degree in computers from the University of Maryland, US. Previously, Mr.Sharma worked as the chief product and technology officer at fashion e-tailer Myntra, where he was responsible for driving technology strategy and culture.

Before joining Myntra Shamik Sharma was vice president of software at Lytro, a light field camera start-up in the US, and held executive roles in RockYou, StumbleUpon, and Yahoo.

Pi Venture is an early stage venture fund from Bangalore and was launched in August 2016 by LetsVenture founder Singhal and entrepreneur Umakant Soni, plans to invest in 18-20 startups over the next three to four years. The VC firm has invested in startups like Niramai, ten3T, Spinny, Medwell.
