Three minor students of Standard 10, Chetanya Golechha, Mrigank Gujjar and Utsav Jain from Jaipur’s Neerja Modi School have won Rs 3 crore for their start-up ‘Infusion Beverages’. The trio participated in entrepreneurship competition at their school last year in April that changed their fate. They also participated in festivals from IIT-Kanpur and IIM-Indore and received wide appreciation.
Chetanya Golechha said TOI that, “Our presentation of the product failed to impress the judges in the fest. We were kicked out in the first round. Though we were out of the competition in the first hour we got the order of delivering 150 flavoured water bottles.”
Apart from preparing for their board exams, ‘Infusion Beverages’ team make infused flavoured water with natural flavours (no added conservatives.) By January,2017 they had sold 8,000 bottles of flavoured water which include kewra, rose and bel flavours through B2B mode.
Marigank Gujjar said, “We carried out intense research on Google to prepare a healthy drink without sugar and soda. But soon we realised that turning an idea into reality is not easy when you are a minor. Procuring the license, necessary permissions from the food department and approval from FSSAI are herculean tasks. As we were minors our parents sought the permission on our behalf.”
Their parents helped them with the procurement of the licence, permissions from the food department and got approval from FSSAI on their behalf for Infusion Beverages.
The major boost came after Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) decided to incubate their idea. They also helped them in applying for the patent, which is in the advanced stage.
When asked about missing out on teenage life, they replied “Our dreams are big and we have to start early to achieve them. I don’t like people who sit idle till they complete their graduation or post-graduation. This early start will keep us ahead of everyone.” Read more about Indian Startup.
