Outbound hiring platform-‘Belong’ has raised $10 Million of Series B funding from Sequoia Capital along with its existing investor, Matrix Partners also participated the rounds. Previously, in 2015 Belong $5 Million of Series A funding from the same investors.
After the funding round was closed, Gautham Mago from Sequoia Capital joined ‘Belong’s board of Directors which include Matrix Managing Director Tarun Davda and Raju Reddy, founder of IT services company Sierra Atlantic.
The Bangalore based startup was founded in the year 2014 by Engineering and Management graduates Sudheendra Chilappagari, Rishabh Kaul, Vijay Sharma and Saiteja Veera. ‘Belong’ helps organizations discover, engage and hire top relevant talent at the right time. Their data-driven solutions help to hire spot candidates for the team who fits the requirements and engage with them through personalized interactions.
‘Belong’ has provided Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to industry leaders like Cisco, Amazon, UHG, Tesco, Reliance Jio, Thought Works and 80 other clients. The employees’ data analytics detect candidates looking for a particular job or seeking job change.
CEO of ‘Belong’ Vijay Sharma said that “We now have clear validation that our product is working. Talented candidates today are overwhelmed by the ‘spray-and-pray’ tactics of traditional recruiting. Not only does it annoy them, but it also leads to poor engagement and conversions for recruiters. We’ve expanded from early adopters into a much larger base of clients across industries. We’re still largely focused on technology hiring, but we’re also expanding into sales and marketing hiring.”
Since its inception, the company has raised its mid-market and enterprise customers. The startup has witnessed about 411% year-to-year of increment in generating the offers for the platform.
Gautam Mago, Managing Director at Sequoia Capital, India said: “In a world where companies need to respond to market realities quickly, Belong’s (artificial intelligence)-driven outbound approach to help businesses discover and hire top talent is a step in the right direction.”
Belong will use the freshly raised funds for accelerating the product development; expand sales and support operations; hire new talent across engineering, data science, enterprise sales and customer success. Read more startup funding news.
