First acquisition of June 2017: GrowthEx acquires Leapwired

Online counseling platform GrowthEx has acquired online Edtech startup Leapwired for an undisclosed amount.

Growthex CEO Varun Saxena stated that the acquisition will help them to build more engaging internal and customer facing communities to improve customer engagement. It will also help them to enhance their counselor experience on its platform.

About the Startups:

GrowthEx: The Gurgaon-Based company founded in the year 2014 by Varun Saxena and Ayesha Ravel. The startup is a unique global platform enabling Personal and Professional Growth through Online Counseling, Programs, and Peer Engagement Community. The company also provides courses for K-12, entrance exams, certifications and up skills for working professionals.

GrowthEX claims to have more than 100,000+ users, 5,000+ counsellors and 1,000+ programmes. Apart from Indian users, the platform has also users from Singapore, Qatar, Brazil and Nigeria. The Startup has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in April 2017 from a clutch of angle investors.

Varun Saxena, CEO said: “We are working towards making personal wellness and online counseling much more scientific and personalized in days to come. The platform will use the power of data and peer engagement, and leverage Predictive Analytics & Artificial Intelligence, to come up with proactive solutions for users, which may be used to enrich wellness at all the levels.”

Leapwired: It is also a Gurgaon-based startup founded in 2016 by Akshay Bhaskar and Pranav Jang Bhaspur. The startup mission is to help students across the globe make informed academic and career decisions by connecting to right expert mentors who they can relate to.

Leapwired provides online classes for IITJEE, BITSAT, CBSE Boards, Strategy for droppers, resources to follow, in exam tips, improving scores in coaching tests, improving in Physics, Chemistry or Maths, placements at different colleges, campus life in different colleges, specific branch related information, online preparation etc. Read more about Indian Startup Ecosystem.
