Healthcare start-up CureFit has bought Bengaluru-based yoga center brand 1000yoga for an undisclosed amount to expand its mental wellness offering. This is the third acquisition by the startup in less than a year after CULT and Tribe Fitness Centers.
Cure.fit said in a statement, “This acquisition consolidates Cure.fit’s offering in the fitness segment and is a leap towards establishing their existing brand Cult.fit as the largest, one-of-its-kind holistic fitness training facility in Bengaluru by the end of this year.”
1000yoga is an honest effort in bringing together the knowledge and practice of yoga for the sake of appreciation, transformation & propagation. The founders saw the need for thorough professionalism in teaching yoga. Funds raised from passionate Angel Investors gave life to this idea, 1000yoga’s first Yoga Studio in Koramangala in June 2011. The operation of 1000yoga, a proprietary of Due North Yoga, is run by HYPA trust.
Post acquisition, CureFit will rebrand two of the three centers of 1000yoga. The startup was started in 2011 by renowned yoga teacher Pradeep Sattwmaya with the aim of making high-quality yoga education accessible.
Pradeep Sattwmaya, the founder of 1000yoga said “In the last 6 years, 1000yoga has built a reputation for itself in Bangalore through the professional and highly effective yoga service that we have provided. We are very happy to now partner with Cure.fit and take these quality offerings across India.”
CureFit was registered in May 2016 and launched in early 2017 by former Flipkart executives Nagori and Mukesh Bansal. In March, CureFit had acquired Bengaluru-based premium online food delivery startup Kristys Kitchen in a cash and equity deal. In February, it had picked up a majority stake in fitness center chain The Tribe. Earlier, it had invested in mental health and wellness platform Seraniti.
