In an extremely unexpected move, Samajwadi Party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav made a shocking announcement on Friday of expelling his son and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav from the party for six years over alleged indiscipline. The decision came soon after the junior Yadav released a separate list of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. The party chief has also sacked his cousin and senior party leader Ram Gopal Yadav along with a close Akhilesh Yadav loyalist for the same period. He has been sacked for “weakening the party” and insulting the supreme with his comments.
“To save the party, we have expelled both Ramgopal and Akhilesh Yadav for six years from the party. For us the party is the most important and our priority is to save the party,” No such report have come out yet on new CM of the SP, but the party would soon decide on that as the election in UP are expected to be announced any soon.
Further explaining the decision, the party chief said that it was taken after Ramgopal called an emergency meeting of the party on January 1 and it was also supported by Akhilesh. Mulayam Singh said, “How can he (Akhilesh) release the list when the party has declared its candidates? Both Akhilesh and Ramgopal want to finish the party. I will not let it happen. I have built this party through hard work.
“I made Akhilesh the Chief Minister. No one else could do that. Ram Gopal Yadav has finished Akhilesh’s future and the Chief Minister does not understand that. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has been expelled from Samajwadi Party for 6 years,” Singh added.
Just after Mulayam Singh’s announcement, hundreds of party workers and supporters Akhilesh Yadav gathered outside his Lucknow residence, protesting in his support. Party leader Ramgopal Yadav also reacted strongly against his expulsion from the party, describing it as “illegal”. All things are based on that party meeting called by Akhilesh Yadav through his uncle Ram Gopal on Sunday. Stay tuned to get more updates about the same. Read Indian Business News.
