MP Online in trouble for Rs 5 crore scam revealed by Vyapam

Private agency MP Online is caught making Rs 5 crore from a scam. Vyapam is a government agency that conducts examinations and recruitment in the state. They have picked a private organization, MP online to accept examination and recruitment applications. As per the agreement made in 2013 MP online charges Rs 70 per candidate who registers through MP Online kiosk and Rs 40 per candidate who registers through their own laptop or computer.

Vyapam recently discovered MP online charging Rs 70 for online registration of candidates. They have charged Rs 30 more than what they were supposing to charge. A senior official at Vyapam said that around 16 lakhs forms were received from applicant in three years who did not use the kiosk. This means MP Online made Rs 5 Crores from these applicants. Vyapam director Lakshakar Bhaskar took action after receiving several complaints from students and said “I came to know about the issue in August this year. I called up officials of the agency, but they continued with it till date. As the issue is serious, I have written a letter to the principal secretary, science and technology department to look into the matter.”

Vyapam receives more than 20 lakh forms and they need agencies like the accused to process these applications. They would have to replace the private agnecy with a new one or set things right . The scam is out and students will not be silent when Rs 5 crores is pulled from them without a genuine reason. Sources say that the scam came out after students posting about this in social media.
