“The discussions between the two ministers focused on building of cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, science and technology, environment and renewable energy, shipping, food processing, healthcare, culture and tourism”, external affairs ministry of India said in a statement.
Mr. Samuelsen is on a five – day visit to India and arrived in Delhi on 26/11/2017. He is also attending the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held at Hyderabad today (28/11/2017). India at present has only modest economic and trade ties with Denmark but over the past few years, the trade between the two countries has improved significantly. The value of trade between the two countries now stands at US $2.8 billion. Indian companies have established their presence in the IT, renewable energy and biotechnology sectors of Denmark and over 125 Danish companies have invested significant amounts in the renewable energy, shipping, IT and food processing sectors in India. Hopefully, this agreement to boost trade and investment ties between the countries results in a bright future for the startups in both the countries. Additional sectors where further cooperation is possible must also be explored and implemented for the mutual benefit of startups in the two countries. Read more on Startup News
