Michael Adnani having more than 30 years of experience joins Styletag as their new CEO

Women fashion e-commerce platform Styletag hired Michael Adnani as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Apart from the usual CEO activities like strategy, marketing, products and tech, he would also be heading the fundraising rounds.

“As the CEO of Styletag, I look forward to leveraging the strengths of the company and turning them into winning strategies to cement the brand’s position as a domain leader,” said Adnani in a statement to media.

Previously Michael worked in Flipkart as Vice President and headed strategic brand alliances, which he left in October last year. Proior to Flipkart he worked in Sears holdings, nextag.com, overstock.com, and others where he gathered enough knowledge and experience to drive an e-commerce company.

“Adnani brings to Styletag an in-depth knowledge of the e-commerce sector, as well as a wealth of experience from other organizations,” Sanjay Shroff, founder of Styletag, told media.

“His exposure to the Indian market and experience in the Bay Area will bring in fresh ideas and perspective to push the brand towards rapid acceleration, expansion and consolidation.” The startup is looking to hire more such seasoned executives at the Csuite level, Shroff said.

The company also informed that they are looking to hire more such seasoned C level executives.

Styletag was founded in 2012 by Yashodhara and Sanjay Shroff, trying to be India’s first online curated fashion and lifestyle destination. Styletag is a shopping website that hosts flash sales with curated styles for a limited period at up to 70% off. Products range from clothes, fashion accessories, designer products, home decor, phone accessories, wedding collection to gift items and collectibles.

In past Styletag raised $ 7.5 million from Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director of the Embassy Group, in his personal capacity. The company had informed then that the funds will be used for product expansion, talent acquisition and acquiring designer brands.
