Minjar Cloud Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is Bengaluru and US – based cloud computing startup. The startup had announced yesterday (06/07/2017) that it has raised an undisclosed amount of Pre-Series funding from the VC firm, Blume Ventures. Other VC firms like Contrarian Capital India Partners and Emergent Ventures India and the angel investors Ashish Gupta, co-founder of Helion Ventures; Sharad Sharma from iSPIRT and Indus Khaitan from Sirion Labs also participated in the round of funding. The startup will use the funds to expand its operations in the US said Minjar’s co – founder and CEO, Vijay Rayapati said. Minjar Cloud Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was founded by Vijay Rayapati, Anand and Aparna Sharma in 2012. Vijay Rayapati is an alumnus of Osmania University in the US, Anand Sharma is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and Aparna Sharma is an alumnus of IIM, Bangalore.
Minjar Cloud Solutions Pvt. Ltd. provides a cloud platform which enables companies to store data in the cloud, process data in the cloud and transfer data via the cloud. The startup has employed around ninety employees. Minjar’s profit for the FY from April 2016 to March 2017 was US $2.1 million said Vijay Rayapati. During March 2016, Minjar had raised US $900,000 in Seed Funding from the Silicon Valley-based VC firm, Emergent Ventures.
The other cloud computing startups that received funding during the last year include the US – based cloud computing startup, TidalScale which raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Infosys during November 2016. The Bengaluru – based cloud computing startup, Instasafe raised US $2.2 million (Rs. 15 crores) in Seed Funding from the e-governance solution provider, ABN Knowledgware during January, this year (2017) just to name a few.
