Appointed as the CEO of Microsoft on 4th February 2014, Satya Nadella, with his great work and perseverance, joined the confederacy of technological experts like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Satya joined Microsoft in 1992 and in no time became a great leader who could transform the leading product offerings of the company with growing technology and businesses. Prior to being designated as the CEO, he performed leadership roles in the enterprise, as well as consumer business in the company.
Satya’s upbringing and education played a major role in sculpting his technical abilities and leadership qualities. After acknowledging a degree in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in India, he moved to United States where he studied at the revered University of Wisconsin and also attended the Booth School of Business. The defining moment of Nadella’s life came when he joined Microsoft. In the IT giant, he seized great work opportunities and managed a number of divisions in the company.
Before succeeding Steve Ballmer as the CEO, Satya worked as the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. In this role, he innovatively transformed the cloud infrastructure and services business, which outstripped the entire market and also acquired share from the competition. Formerly, Satya was the vice president of Microsoft Business Division and directed R&D for Online Services Division. Previous to being associated with Microsoft, he worked as the member of the technology team at Sun Microsystems.
Satya Nadella today stands among the highest paid CEOs in the world with net worth $72 million (approximately). With Global rank 64, he is responsible for managing the profit and growth of Microsoft in this very competitive market. Quite popular amongst media, the tech genius is often revered by many and is also invited as the guest speaker for a number of events all across the United States.
Now residing in Bellevue, Washington, Satya originally belongs to a Telugu-speaking family of Hyderabad. He got married to Anupama in 1992, who is the daughter of his father’s IAS batch mate. The couple has three children living in Bellevue with them. Satya is also a member of the board of trust with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He loves reading poetry – Indian & American, and also has a keen interest in Cricket.
