Voonik is on an acquiring spree for building their premium product, Vilara
Fashion e-store Voonik focusing mailing on curated fashion in the unbranded segment, acquires three more startups. This acquisition will help Voonik in building their premium fashion product Vilara.
Funded by Sequoia Capital, this fashion boutique has acquired 5 startups in past 6 months. They are acqui-hiring startups and increasing their portfolio to establish leadership in the segment.
The three companies that have been acquired now are:
- Online marketplace for designers and boutiques Zohraa. It is a 12-person team.
- Online silk store Picksilk.com, which currently has an eight-person team.
- Styl, a platform that connects stylists and salons with consumers, with a team size of nine.
Last year as well, Voonik acqui-hired TrialKart to provide virtual dressing room experience to its users. Last month the company acqui-hired Getsy to provide personalized fashion for men. This development happened when Voonik, was set to expand into men’s fashion and entered the men’s segment with its app Mr Voonik. The company also pulled in four people from the ten-member team from online apparel rental startup Klozee, which shut down operations in January this year.

This e-store was co-founded 2013 by Sujayath Ali and Navaneetha Krishnan.
