Amazon is opening Seller Cafes in 24 cities across the country to bring more sellers onboard
The race to become market leader has become more interesting since Amazon launched its new program called Seller Cafes. Seller Cafes are team that will support sellers to get them ready for festive season – Diwali.
Diwali is the festival of lights and e-commerce giants like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal and prepping up to make their highest revenues on that particular day.
Seller Cafes will help new sellers with onboarding and solving issues that new seller faces. Amazon presently has 120,000 vendors/sellers, 80 million products, 24 fulfilment centres and increased their delivery network by 5 times.
14,000 specialists have been hired only to handle these Seller Cafes.
In the recent six weeks Amazon has added 20,000 new sellers. Amazon says that sellers form their backbone and they are enabling more and more small and medium business to join their platform.
Jeff Bezos, CEO & Founder of Amazon was announced as the 3rd richest person in the world. His net worth is 66 Billion. Started his entrepreneurship career in 1994 by starting Amazon is now concentrating more on India.
Amazon sees potential in Indian e-commerce market and decided to invest more $3 Billion in India. India is their second largest revenue source after US.
Flipkart tried to replicate Amazon’s model in India, while Amazon is evolving from their initial plan and learning from Flipkart’s mistakes.
Flipkart is acquiring other e-commerce companies to become market leader while Amazon is learning Indian market through trial and error.
