Vodafone increase data limit by 50% on Rs. 349 plan

One of India’s largest telecom and internet provider, Vodafone, has increased the data limit on its Rs. 349/- plan by 50% from 1GB per day to 1.5 GB per day. This increase in data limit comes in the wake of stiff competition from another one of India’s largest telecom and internet provider, Reliance Jio. Ever since Reliance Jio was launched, it has proven to be a nightmare for its competitors, drawing customers from its competitors as well as new customers by the millions! Vodafone’s other competitors like Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular had too increased the data limit on their popular plans by 50%, just a few days ago, to compete with Reliance Jio. The Rs. 349/- plan of Vodafone provides 42 GB of mobile internet data over a period of four weeks. It competes with Reliance Jio’s Rs. 309/- plan, which provides 49 GB of mobile internet data over a period of seven weeks and with Reliance Jio’s Rs. 399/- plan which provides 70 GB of mobile internet data over a period of ten weeks. At Rs. 349/- for 42 GB of data, Vodafone’s mobile internet pack charges Rs. 8.3 per GB of data in addition to providing free voice calls for four weeks. At Rs. 309/- for 49 GB of data, Reliance Jio’s mobile internet pack charges Rs. 6.3 per GB of data in addition to providing free voice calls for seven weeks. At Rs. 399/- for 70 GB of data, Reliance Jio’s mobile internet pack charges Rs. 5.7 per GB of data in addition to providing free voice calls for ten weeks. Vodafone’s Rs. 349/- pack also competes with Reliance Jio’s Rs. 509/- pack, which offers 98 GB of data for seven weeks at Rs. 5.1 per GB of data with a cap of 2 GB of data usage per day instead of its competitors’ cap of 1.5 GB of data usage per day. Even though Reliance Jio’s competitors have brought down their prices and have increased their data usage limit, Reliance Jio clearly has an edge over its competitors as it provides its customers with more data for cheaper prices.
