Good news for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, they topped the list of ease of doing business ranking. Gurjrat, who was last year’s winner slipped to 3rd position now. This list is prepared by world bank and government’s department of industrial policy and promotion this year (DIPP).
Following Gujrat are Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. The list is based on the degree of implementation of the government’s 340-point Business Reform Action Plan. The plan includes 58 regulatory processes, policies, practices, and procedures 10 reform areas. Some of the main reforms are tax reforms, labour and environment reforms, dispute resolution and construction permit.
List continues with Jharkhand (7th), Rajasthan (8th), Uttarakhand (9th), Maharashtra (10th), Odisha (11th), Punjab (12th), Karnataka (13th), Uttar Pradesh (14th), West Bengal (15th), Bihar (16th), Himachal Pradesh (17th), Tamil Nadu (18th) and finally Delhi.
Last year Gurjrat topped the list followed by AP and Telangana stood at 13th position.
