  • Major geographical expansion from leading online product rental marketplace showcases its global ambitions
  • RentSher will launch a bilingual website in Riyadh and Mecca in two weeks

Bangalore : RentSher, a leading online product rental marketplace in India and the UAE, after successfully launching in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Dubai, is more than doubling its geographical footprint by launching in 7 new cities. RentSher has initiated operations in Chennai, Pune, and Kochi in India, and in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The company will also be entering its third country, Saudi Arabia, in two weeks’ time when it will launch operations in Riyadh and Mecca after deploying a bilingual website. As the market leader in digitally disrupting the rental marketplace, RentSher will aim to grab 5-7% of the electronic and event rentals sector, a USD 15 billion market in India and the UAE alone.

RentSher will be providing all electronics, events, and medical products for rent in these markets. Currently, RentSher’s service offerings  includes complete support for birthday and household parties, as well as corporate events and more; electronics and audiovisual equipment like projectors, audio systems, and LED displays, and computer hardware like laptops, desktops, and servers. Rentals in these cities have become a big market and are showing great potential, with the event rental markets alone being around USD 14 million annually while showing double-digit growth. RentSher is already receiving 30-40 queries on a daily basis from these cities and will look to supply this demand with an average of 50 vendors per city in these new markets at launch. Providing a digital presence in these markets as well as comprehensive customer support will bridge the gap between customers with short-term rental needs and vendors, along with transparency and end-to-end support.

Commenting on the expansion, Harsh Dhand, Founder & CEO at  RentSher India, said, “RentSher has a simple mission – to provide a win-win situation for customers and suppliers across the globe as the sharing economy takes hold. I am certain that there are several thousand people in these new cities that we are entering into – from people looking to rent party decorations or companies looking to provide equipment to employees – will find our end-to-end streamlined services of use. Our plan for 2018 is to spread RentSher across India, the countries in the Gulf, and the Middle East in general.”

The electronic and IT products being provided by RentSher on its platform are required by several lakh individuals and thousands of companies. Currently, RentSher provides IT equipment to around 100 startups and SMEs in the market  and plans to scale up to bring these services to corporates and large business houses in existing and upcoming markets. RentSher is already in talks with companies looking for such services in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai, which helped them select their target cities for expansion. RentSher is also enabling businesses across cities and verticals to list their rental products, and the company is discovering new segments and use cases every day. The company already services several Tier II cities like Mysore, Pune, and Chandigarh, and will look to bring services in these markets onto their digital platform. In terms of their international expansion, RentSher is opening operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a market with ample opportunity and high potential. Even government agencies in the region are looking at rental partners for events, and RentSher will look to capture that segment in the Middle East.
