Lockheed Martin and others in race to supply single-engine jets to India

Last week Ministry of Defence has requested information on single engine jet fighters. The request for information was promptly acknowledged by the American manufacturer Lockheed Martin. India took this step post signing of double engine jets Rafale.

There are three primary manufacturers of single engine jet fighters. America’s Lockheed Martin, America’s popular domestic plane manufacturer Boeing, and Sweedish Saab. According to CNBC-TV 18 Lockheed Martin is coming to India to meet senior official from Defense Ministry and  Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar at the PM’s office.

If this deal goes through Lockheed is planning to have a manufacturing unit in India and they would export F-16’s from here. But similar promises are also going to be given by the other two manufacturers. Read more Business News.

    India should go for all Sweden’s Saab and Lockheed Martin F-16 each 100 under make in India..This way India will get know how along with technology which give India boost in self reliant..Thus huge job creation..Saving lot of foreign currency..it’s a win win situation for all.. India also finalize pak FA Russian deal in between with Russia.. India will become world power can defend our border from any enemy..
