The startup Cajobportal launched in Aug 2013, is India’s first recruitment website exclusively for Chartered Accountants and allied courses like CS, CWA and MBA(Finance) by Kolkata based group of CAs and IIMA graduates. They are guided by co-founder of naukri.com who is also then dean for alumni at IIMA. Their key service offering is the featured jobs segment. Here, they act as vendors and help them recruit interns as well as fresher/lateral hires for the finance function.
The fact and the happening
The fact is, when there are opportunities for the other graduates to shift their career, the commerce and accounts graduates are left abandoned. During an interaction session with CA freshers, they realized that only a fraction of them could ace jobs in the competitive ICAI’s campus placement process. The rest lacked on communication skills, took multiple attempts etc. Some of them relied on friends and relatives to channelize resumes and even the conventional consultants had no specific focus on this space. Cajobportal is the one step solution for all the CAs and Business administration graduates in looking out for a bright future.
Current strategy of the graduates count
According to the survey made ,currently there are around 250,000+ Chartered Accountants, 30,000+ Company Secretary, Cost Accountants , MBA (Finance) from premiere institutes, Tier 2/3 MBAs and graduates; who form the backbone of the Finance & Strategy function of a manufacturing company, corporate office, manufacturing plants and sales offices as well as the delivery centres of a service company.
How do they process it
They leverage the domain knowledge to engage better with prospects and filter profiles through online written tests as well as verbal interviews. Thus the conversation is centred around accounting standards, derivatives, valuation and audit procedures, rather than just CTC and notice period. Tracking online through website traffic and social media helps them to access profiles of job-seekers who may not necessarily be active on standard databases at that point of time. An offline executive search partners are appointed too to track down the students.

The Reality and effects
In spite of being a top performer, she struggled hard to find a job for herself in Kolkata after the break for personal reasons from Deloitte. Later she realized how difficult it would be for a talented women to find work in the corporate world under specific personal situations. When she got involved full-time into cajobportal.com to head Operations & Business Development, the past experience resulted her in recruiting only females for the team. They operate on a ‘Work from Home’ setup – where girls can stay at home and work in trust on their cloud based collaborative platform.
