Suraksha disnostics raises series B investment

Suraksha Diagnostic Pvt. Ltd. (“Suraksha”), the leading diagnostic chain in East India, has raised Series B investment from OrbiMed. The transaction also witnessed the existing investor, India 2020, a fund managed by Lighthouse Funds, exiting completely.
Founded in 1992, Suraksha today operates over 30 centers spread across West Bengal, Bihar and Delhi offering the complete gamut of radiology and pathology services. Led by the dynamic duo of Ms. Ritu Mittal and Dr. Somnath Chatterjee, the Company has grown quickly from 8 centers in 2013 when India 2020 invested.Funds raised from this round will be used to further expand the network catering to the vast undeserved markets of East and Central India. o3 capital was the sole advisor on this deal.

Suraksha is the largest diagnostic chain in eastern India, it today ranks among the top 5 nationally with nearly 25 centres across West Bengal, Bihar and Delhi NCR. All diagnostic centres are owned and operated by the company to maintain strict quality protocols. Suraksha also operates a centre in NRS Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata on PPP (Public Private Partnership) basis with the State Government.

Suraksha diagnostic services span Pathology, Histopathology, Molecular Diagnostics and Radiology and include the latest tests. It is the first in India to receive the coveted CAP (College of American Pathologists) certification and is also NABH accredited. Apart from diagnostic services, Suraksha has a number of polyclinics with senior consultants from disciplines such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Neurology. It also runs Super Specialty Clinics for diabetes, hypertension, back pain, etc.
